Could I ask for some hint/tips please?

5d - Reserve goalie, a record-holder (10)

14a - Conceited American doing odd deal with Welsh (9)

I have SO many other empty clues but I am hoping that a few more letters might help.

Construct 5d as 4 (reserve) 6 (goalie) to mean a recordholder
14a is an anagram (deal welsh) for a word I had never heard of

14a - I’d never heard it before either, Chris.
I see it’s in Collins (but not Chambers) noted as ‘US informal’.
