Please can anyone help with 39a and 23d?

39a: For the Stasi, the East German blocks file (7)
I have D - S - I - R. It looks like DOSSIER (= file), but I can’t see how the rest of it works.

23d: Key English river dredged at last, decontaminated (8)
I have - E - O - S - D
It looks like DELOUSED (= decontaminated). I can work out most of the parsing but can’t see where the L comes from.

All help gratefully received!

The Stasi were the German secret police i.e. the SS and the German for the is der ((the East German blocks) . Unsure of the parsing of O and I.

Both spot on. Ossi is the German word for citizens of the old GDR, inside Der, German for the.

Del is the Delete key on a keyboard, + Ouse + D (dredged at last)
