Is there any wordplay or clever letter trickery here ?

The answer was indeed APHASIA

I still can't think of any word-play. Just an allusion to the medical condition.

No "Eatern Continent contains macho male without Los Angeles?" or some such shennaigans....

There’s definitely no wordplay. I imagine it’s just a play on two potential meanings of unspeakable, 1) awful, and 2) being incapable of speech
