The answer is NECKCLOTH but can anyone help with the parsing? I assume definition is accessory or accessory for man, reluctant is loth and drink at first is presumably neck but where does the C come from? And what is hot cluing?

It might make more sense if the clue read: '...reluctant to get cold drink at first' but we must be missing something.

The online version (now?) has it as “… to have drink cold at first” which makes sense. No wonder we couldn’t work it out! That’s a weird mistake to have crept into the print version, but these things happen…

So not a lack of biblical knowledge at all, as it turns out…
