With a filled grid and 20 minutes utubing the source I have no idea about the final instruction. There are a few 6-letter names utube has vouchsafed to me, but none appears in the grid. Are the 6 letters in a straight line? Blowed if I can see it.

I enjoyed this - the 3rd instruction must have been difficult to work into a symmetrical grid (and the corresponding changes make it even harder, I think).

Help me with my last straight clue? 27 - Chip from Celtic pass nearly rebounds (6) I have five letters, but several words fit and no ideas.
I still have 23d of the thematics to get too.

27 - not a word I've seen before but 'pass' is 6 letters (minus the last) reversed.

23d - 4 for 'ring'/sound (around) 'g'+ (wild) 'party' (3,6)

I enjoyed the puzzle, despite my complete ignorance of the theme. I could see what was happening to the thematic entries but had no idea why and the emerging instructions seemed very odd. Meanwhile, the challenge of some rather chewy clues kept my interest. Google has now completed my understanding and revealed the reason for the thematic treatment, the relevance of the instructions and the title, and the six cell subject. Thank you, Check.
