I don't recall seeing "Dynamo" in the Guardian, or other online publications for that matter.

Definitely a "Monday"-level puzzle, practically a write-in, but well-crafted and elegantly clued IMO.

Hope to see more Dynamic offerings.

Dynamo new to me too, geeker. I agree about the crafting, but too easy even for a Monday, I thought. I’ve known much harder Quiptics!
Guardian and Indie crosswords completed in 20 minutes. At least I can now get some sleep!

If you're looking for a bit more of a challenge and want to try your hand at a barred puzzle, the EV is still posted weekly over on another site.

Agree, with the earlier comments.
It’s been pointed out elsewhere that Dynamo is an anagram of Monday… I wonder how significant that is?

Forgive my ignorance, brendan: what is the EV?

Rogissimo, EV stands for Enigmatic Variations, the thematic puzzle (a prize one) in the Sunday Telegraph.

Ah, thanks Malone. I avoid the Telegraph in all its manifestations, but I will check this one out in the other place

Good call, jono, the Dynamo/Monday anag is surely significant.

Perhaps a collaborative puzzle? I recall the Grauniad running a Prize collaboration under a name I forget...Although the cluing here seems more like a single author IMO.

Other possibilities come to mind, so will stay tuned and see what happens.

24d - Bank really giving away a pound (4)

How do you read this clue? It makes no sense to me I’m afraid.

druh, just take the word "really" and subtract the letters "al" (a pound).
Gives a 4-letter verb for "bank" (on).
