krauton

I filled the grid apart from the 7 unclueds.
Can anyone give a hint about how to find the phrase that identifies
the clues, four lines of six.

Krauton - that's where I am too. Brain almost fried by Listener, and I can't see what connects the missing words (or my guesses for those which aren't obvious). I've scanned the grid up and down, back and forth and diagonally but nothing leaps (or even crawls) out.

Everything you need is in the text above the clues (the beginnings...)

I have solved all the clues and found the hidden phrase, but cannot see how it "identifies clues". Nor is it clear from the preamble, whether the phrase "identifies" the given clues or the missing ones. The missing clues' numbers would have been 1, 10, 11, 12, 14, 30 and 42 (I think), but I cannot see any significance in that. No idea where to go from here.

The PDM came very late but boy did it drop hard! A brilliant piece from Ifor, to whom my thanks and admiration.
