Yes, a good crossword, although I can not quite parse the B word (there are only two letters missing, of course). The answer seems to mean the second word of the definition (ignoring the first) and where the first three letters of the answer come from I do not know (the last three I understand).
But what are the two "thematic" words? I have a plethora of animals in the grid (at least eight), but I can see from where the answer should be generated from the initial letters of the crossword, and, indeed, the second animal appears "bent" in the middle of the bottom of the grid. But where is the fantastic first animal? The last letter of the animal is uncommon and appears only three times in the grid ... but there is no quick animal to be derived. Have I got it (all) wrong?
