I have amended the Posting Guidelines,

Clause 7 - the addition of the words asking for help or

Clause 8 - new clause to cover the no asking for help quizzes and crosswords.

Please read these amendments to make sure you fully understand our policy on these matters.

Good Morning, Norah.

Re requests for help with prize crosswords.

Essentially this boils down to the conscience of the individual asking for help and that of the person supplying it?

Regards

bobby

Yes, indeed Bobby, as regards conscience. As I explained in the TD&H thread, the Crossword Forum does not police such matters.

I suggest that if anyone sees a question with which they do not agree on this type of puzzle or quiz, then just ignore it and move on. You stand a good chance of being banned if you refer to other Forum members (or even Admin) as cheats, which is what happened yesterday.

Setters can certainly ask that answers aren’t requested but my personal opinion is that this is an unrealistic expectation in this day and age.

Just read the updated Posting Guidelines. People are not giving the name of the quiz and closing date

Keenquizzer, I know they aren’t in some cases😰. However, I don’t want to come “the big heavy” always nagging our Forum members to do this, that or the other. I want to run a happy Forum where Members feel at ease so I sometimes let little things slide.

Other times, I ask in the thread for the correct name/closing date etc. Someone, not always the poster, quite often provides it.

By and large these type of threads potter along quite nicely
