In think developed is EDUCED (which was in the Guardian yesterday, in a slightly different guise).
Climbing (reversed) around RE PIT (base of stomach?)

I think I've finished but there are two I can't parse. Both appear to refer to other clues (though maybe they don't!)

29a. CECI is French for 'this', reversed, + OLD, historic.

I went for CORPS as it sounds like CORE
