In think developed is EDUCED (which was in the Guardian yesterday, in a slightly different guise).
Climbing (reversed) around RE PIT (base of stomach?)

I think I've finished but there are two I can't parse. Both appear to refer to other clues (though maybe they don't!)

6D Rescues by plane runs across 17 yards? (8)
(17 is either WHELP or WON TON)

A _ R _ I _ T _

It looks as if it's AIRLIFTS but why?

29A For Magritte, this recalled 18 without emotion. (3-4)
(18 is HISTORIC)

I _ E - _ O _ D

I'm guessing ICE- COLD, but why?

Any suggestions welcome!

Thank you Malone, thank you Mattrom, you must both have very convoluted minds...
...but that's what you need for crosswords I guess!
