Thank you Lionheart for an enjoyable puzzle.

Please may I have some help parsing 27 down?

"Boat and film" must clue Titanic - nothing for it (6)

I know how the clue is treated and I know the answer but I cannot parse it.

rhsl @ 28 - agreed regarding the second name. There is an additional letter there but I think it's unavoidable. Therefore as you say this entry is neither a word nor (just) the thematic name.

Thank you, cd. That's what I figured but I couldn't see the anagram indicator.

After much staring and experimenting, I think I have a way of carrying out the key instruction but it involves eliminating some material in the grid. I can’t see how that material could be generated if I reversed the procedure as per the prize-winning technique.

Crikey! Thank you, Crates. I don’t think I would ever have worked that out.

Excellent, thank you lionheart.

The final step took me a little while but I'm happy with the result. There's only one final grid that works as far as I can see.

@gregwatsonuk, I understand (thanks, Professor Google) that the technique can be used to insert or remove material.
