Another excellent offering from Chalicea. The first instruction produces a satisfying result and, given the theme, 7d is priceless.

I really shouldn't attempt EV. As always I led myself completely astray to begin with, this time by trying to read the letters generated by the extra words across rather than down. I also didn't delve deeply enough into the theme in the first instance so delayed myself in finding the name.

Another elegant puzzle from Chalicea, for which thanks to Shirley.

Led myself down a blind alley at first, but spotted the correct subject of the second instruction fairly quickly. Some of his work is preserved near me at Garstang in Lancashire, so I was pleased to see him acknowledged in this puzzle.

It's a pity that EV doesn't get the full recognition it deserves, since it is an excellent series.
