My biggest enemy with this one was myself: confidently striding up blind alleys (realising that I had justified 10a in a thoroughly wrong way leaves me ashamed), and missing the bleedin' obvious stretched it all out. But enjoyable. Thanks to all involved.

Some generous down clues and early deduction of the instruction really helped with completing the harder bits. Thanks to Chalicea for a satisfying puzzle that I could complete in one evening rather than a week of evenings, as has happened recently!

Hmmm, it’s not a forum name I’ve seen before. But “gregbowers” started a thread on “Times Collection 2023” nine mins later. Perhaps this was a trial run?
