All done, but unless I have things totally misconstrued, the solution has been included in the clue for 6D!

Apropos 6d, one can rely on the consistent quality of the Spectator’s crossword editing…. 🙄 And the definition in 2d should be plural, surely?

Yes, Jack,I thought 2 D should have been edited properly... but I tend to just shrug now, as there seems to be little errors, oversights, in most of the puzzles!

Shrugging is all very well, but the lack of rigour from the Editor is not something to be ignored. Editors are there, whether paid or not, to edit, dammit. Time to switch to the Old Stateswoman (if they have a crossword still: it's decades since I was a subscriber).

My wits must be dimming. The 1a/45a and 25a/26a pairs puzzle me. The other unclued lights are, I presume, four pairs of ‘twins’.

You need to look at the second letter in the first of your pairs and the fourth letter in the second pair.

I have everything except 6D (answer mistakenly included in clue?) and the unclued pair 13D/22D, where I can only enter exactly the same word. Any gentle hints?
