Frustratingly stuck despite lots of bloggers saying this is a piece of cake.

Can I ask for some hints/tips please? I don’t know how to access the following clues

4a - Ballet is out of place in old prison (8)

4d - American friend becoming heartless, organising finances (9)

12a - Say you must interrupt caressing abandoned child (9)

Some hints:
4a anagram to give a famous old prison
4d US term for friend, followed by a word for "becoming" with one of the middle letters removed, to mean "organising finances". Not entirely afair clue, IMO.
12a "Say you" gives U, inside a word for "caressing"
