Am stumped by one short one:

9A Feel divide, left out (4)

_ A _ E

Can only think of leaving the L out of HALVE to give HAVE but that doesn't really mean 'feel'

Any suggestions?

In addition can anyone parse

5D Ordinary wordplay for 9 Across. (6-2-3-4)

M _ D - L _ / O _ / T _ E / _ O _ D

and which I think is MIDDLE-OF- THE-ROAD?

It probably is HAVE, though I agree it’s a somewhat loose definition. For 5d, middle of the is H, and road is ave, short for avenue, so I think that confirms it

Thank you quisling, I must admit that I hadn't spotted the h, ave thing which is, I suppose, quite clever and, as you say, pretty well proves it. As a definition, however, I still think it's really weak!

Thanks again anyway.

I agree. I can use them equivalently in a sentence like “I have/feel a pain in my leg”, or “I have/feel a deep sorrow”. I think that will have to do.
