I must admit this one has me stumped, presume it is a medical condition? Help!

The wordplay suggests IN (at home) confined by A STATE giving “astatine”.

Not sure if that is a condition.

That's it: Astatine is the 85th element of the periodic table with a symbol 'At'.

Big Al, in 24 Across your first letter is wrong - it should be an E. That might be enough for you to see the area 'by (the) sea'. If not, I can give another clue.
PS ??? for blanks is easier to read.

26 A. You're showing too many letters, I can't work out what's the excess...

The answer to 26 looks like a 10 letter word for cliches minus the first letter (for power), giving a word for lines… in geographical sense.
