I have 2 possible answers for this clue differing by having
either ian i or u as its third letter.
I have the other 8 unclueds and know the gimmick but cant
find a similar item for this clue with either answer.

Krauton, I knew the 'item' as soon as I stuck my choice of letter, U, in - though I don't know where that knowledge came from!
