8 what speeds did records used to be played at?
9 dreadful clue - I can't even pretend to explain it
18 was one of the best clues. Truncate camp and routine to give a shhot.

8d is certainly cryptic. The definition is “it’s used for shooting” (quite literally). Made from a word for a specific type of “horse” and a “record speed” your grandparents may have been familiar with!

For 9 you have to think of antonyms for “unreliable” and “poor” and put them together. The “hand” is one you might have in poker.

I agree with Chris, this is a stretch.
