Hi Any help with this last one appreciated.

12 Trot, end of it? It may have obscured hoof (6)

I have CR*NET but can't get the 5 letter word for Trot that should be at the start of this. Many thanks.

As often happens I have found the answer to be CRONET

Still not sure of the CRONE as Trot though

Unizeta, Chambers has TROT as a Shakespearean word for the first 5 letters, if you scroll down.

What is going on with Azed numbering on the Guardian website?
Last week it skipped from 2707 to 2798 and this week we continue to 2799, even though the pdf’s for those weeks are correctly labelled 2708 and 2709!
