That was a tough one. I am only 80% certain I have the right one for 18 d. COD 19a or 19d, I think.

18d is a hidden, so I'm sure you have it.

Curiously there are two different words that fit 19a and 19d which match the definitions but not the wordplay. If that’s a deliberate trap I fell into it.

Jono, that’s a curious comment. Can you say more? They seemed straightforward to me. The whole thing was satisfyingly challenging but doable. No standout clues today.

Jono - the key is 'flat' in 19a. Focus on that and it'll become clear that only one of the possible pairs really works. (According to Google the answer should be a single word without a hyphen, though. I'd never heard of it before this morning.)

Good day. That felt like a normal Everyman to me, on the hard side. First run through left me with only one solved, 16a. So I agree with post #2, a tough one. But, after slogging away it came together. The downs helped me more than the acrosses. My CoD is 6d. After the posts below I redid 19a and 19d, my first answers fitting but wrong. I expect to see a long forum today. Enjoyable. Hope the NLD is as well, COYS.
