16d Crim stirred up trouble over some LSD (8). I think the answer is Microdot but don't understand the reference to LSD?

Boomer reference. A microdot is one form of a dose of LSD. I've often heard the reference but don't know exactly what it is. Back in the day, "blotter" and "microdot" seemed to be the options.
