Afternoon, all...

"One bedroom over to right needs special plug" = 'adapter'.
"River around Maidenhead? No" = 'Cam'.
"Second time I start to formulate main theme" = 'motif'. Are they using 'mo' for 'second' here i.e. 'in a mo/in a second'? The rest is obvious.

Many thanks.

p.s you are right, mo = second. I've seen it used more than a few times.

A bedroom is 'a pad' and over means turn it round.

A DAP + to right (TO R) = ADAPTOR

Hi Pooksahib,

I hope the sun's shining where you are. CAM -
the construct is CA, which is the abbreviation for circa [approximately] + M - MaidenHEAD.

I hope this is of help to you.

Regards,

Caravaggio

Hi Caravaggio,
I think the problem with that clue (Cam),
is why is the word "no" there?

Hi Trevor,

And I hope the sun's shining where you are too!

If I'm not mistaken, the Cam is a tributary of the Ouse and would flow out somewhere in the Norfolk area. For that reason, it's nowhere near Maidenhead! So the compiler has simply used 'No'.

Caravaggio

Thanks Caravaggio.
I just couldn't see how the "No" worked
Of course, it's fairly obvious now.
