jono 11; I never have, nor will I ever, vote for Trump, but I wonder if the UK press gave the full context of his quote (the left-leaning press in the US was happy to ignore it). He was referring to what would happen to the US auto industry (while speaking to a group of auto workers) if "cheap Chinese" cars flood the US market (not to fear, 60% tariffs are here! He's still an idiot).

Buddy, yes the context I saw reported here was in respect to comments on the automotive industry (I thought imports from Mexico) and how the quote had been deliberately misreported by elements of US media to imply something more sinister.

I admit, it was a fairly niche reference for a clue!
