Very pleasing Everyman today, not too hard. Enjoyed 4, 14 (which was my LOI) and 20 across. Took a long time to twig 10d as well. We've definitely had 17d before. 11a was a new one on me - had to google the assumed answer to check it was a word.

14a, 15a and 20a mean absolutely nothing to me.

How do you read them?

14 and 20 are puns, and especially in the case of 14, not very good ones. Think of a very obnoxious billionaire who craves attention these days. For 15 look up what a Houyhnhnm is (Gulliver's Travels.)

For 20 the definition is "many" and the wordplay is if you had a society without a certain rank of aristocrat, you would be _____less.

Many thanks Ianj. I had to solve it with brute force by going through the alphabet for the second word starter.

(I didn't have 12a.... but I do now!)

Got all the clues in the first sitting with the exception of 10D (where I had guessed _____ GENERALS, and 18A, where I suspected the correct second word but was not at all sure.

Finally was able to see the following day that, No, it was not GENERALS, and then 18A suddenly became clear.

Whew!

Post holiday start on crossword today. Agree, enjoyable
and completed relatively quickly for me. Only one for which I have an answer which fits its anagram and crossers but which I cannot justify:
