Hi again, all.
Thanks for a great response. By my reckoning, there were 29 competitive entries from 12 setters.
Some delightfully witty and playful wordplay from geting, SS, jono, Paul, buddy, tyke, geeker, dorien, mattrom, aristo and bacchanal. Enjoyed the anagrams from geeker, Paul, SS and fieryjack. If I were wearing a hat, I’d take it off to SS for his attachment to überanagrams, and to jono for his skill and patience in unravelling them. A special mention, too, to jono@4 and geeker@16 for incorporating my moniker; that angle hadn’t occurred to me, but it tickled my vanity.
Honestly, any of the entries would have been a worthy winner, but I’ve got to whittle it down.
Bronze goes to SimpleSimon@3. I expected a “prime number” allusion, and it was done with style.
Silver goes to jono@25 with his erudite hybrid anagram. It reads beautifully.
Gold goes to mattrom@33 with:
“Boris once put Frost, Cabinet member, under pressure”.
It also reads beautifully but its topicality wins the day for me.
And the prizes are, a bit of whimsy:

and a real event, though heaven knows what outside observers would make of it:

Congratulations, mattrom, and thanks to all for taking part.
