The tide differential on our island in the Gulf of Maine is typically twelve feet or so, and although I witness this phenomenon twice a day it still fills me with wonder. In nearby New Brunswick it can be as much as fifty-six feet (although usually in the forties I think). The prize is a couple of videos of the Bay of Fundy in action.
