The theme...
Help towards the theme may also be sought here. The 'help' should be fairly gentle in nature - an additional hint or pointer that would assist a struggling solver... while not spoiling the puzzle for others. Any posts which, even inadvertently, reveal too much about the theme are likely to be removed.

The Listener is a unique puzzle and should be treated with respect.

A very quick finish - but a welcome change for me, after the last one. The theme and treatment are both very familiar (I think).

Easy puzzle this week - a nice change of pace after last week's!

Welcome easyish one but not ridiculously so.

But a bit obvious and a bit dull. They can't all be outstanding I suppose...

A couple of nudges needed please -

1Ac Fish join mammal flying (6 two words) S?A???

4Dn Knight’s attendant reported host bearing down on tent (7) ?R?OGE?

One or more of my crossing letters may be wrong…

1a - I think its 4 letter "join" (includes extra letter) + 3 letter "mammal flying" - definition is "fish"

I haven't done 4d yet.
