I could be wrong, but I think the French setting is a jewellery term - Pave (normally with an accent on the E) + AN, the case/outside letters of Alegerian. Pavane, music.

I wasn't able to start this until yesterday afternoon. I have a full grid and the hint for what needs highlighting from the last letters of the extra words. As always though I am being word blind. The only 7 letter word I can find reads diagonally upwards from cell 38 but I don't feel that is right. A nudge/massive shove in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Try googling the word you have found with “Nirvana”, AP.
