I know nothing about the quiz, so I don’t know what’s allowed. But if Jermaine Jenas isn’t right, I have no idea what is! I would certainly expect a homophone indicator in a crossword, but quizzes can be a bit, loose.

No, Quisling - I think you're right about it not being as ... rigorous as the crosswords we're used to! My earlier answer, Denise Lewis, would make perfect sense now.

I found the quiz online and these are the instructions…

“Can you work out the Celebrities from past and present with the help of the following clues? You may find it useful to write down or speak aloud each part of the clue as you solve it – the spelling is not always the same! It may just sound similar. Eg - Bates motel owner could get a yellow card if he's one of these = Norman Fowler. There may even be a few anagrams.”

Thanks Jono and Malone. That explains it. An indication of any special instructions would certainly have helped. I’ve no doubt Denise Lewis is correct
