Challenging as always ftom Ifor. I managed to stagger over the line and it helped that the quote was familiar.

Struggling with the final steps here. I've got the full grid apart from the unchecked cells in the entries for 'three in the remaining rows' . Can't see the superfluous strings and I've not found the quote. A nudge or three would be most appreciated.

Your D looks wrong. I don’t have the puzzle, but it looks like a reversal of SELECTS losing C for Compliance, giving STELES
