A satirist artist is screening The Third Man (8) (The Third Man is in italics)

My letters are which I’m pretty confident about are R?B?L?I? so I’m thinking RABELAIS but can’t parse it to any level of satisfaction. Thanks in advance for your help.

biblically the third man is abel, with r????a is around

RA - artist (common in crosswords, Royal Academician) Is, in the clue + in between is Abel, the third man in the Bible.
