Thanks to all who took part in this week’s challenge.
It was a close call but I was relieved not to have to adjudicate the final decision.
Buddy and Paul share third place honours.
Second is Tyke with two votes and out in front with three votes is Mattrom@22 with a Spoonerism and centrally placed definition (I like it) …

Congratulations Mattrom, your prize is a musical medley from the 60s, 70s and naughties …

Congrats mattrom and thanks also for the vote.

Not intended as a complaint about the winner, but a genuine question. I know soundalikes can hinge on regional pronunciations, - it is really pronounced "mama lade" or is this just the latitude that sometimes is given to these types of clues?

Cheers also to jono.

Surely (The Dalai) Lama does not rhyme with gamma but with Starmer and therefore marma(lade), or have I misunderstood something? Spoonerisms are phonetic.

Congratulations, mattrom, and thanks for hosting, Jono.

So in terms of pronunciation, is there an R in lama, or not an R in Starmer? This is what my American ears can't grasp. Starmer is pronounced STA-MA?
