Another very enjoyable but not too taxing puzzle, which is just what I fancied.

I did manage to spot a rhyming pair, which is unusual for me, and I also tried all sorts of mental and verbal gymnastics to connect the two long down clues but invariably came up short.

COD - as with yesterday's Prize I have a clear winner in the brilliant 18d.

Good day Brendan and all. There is a bit of a theme of geographical features I thought - 3, 9, 19, 23. And for the two long down clues, if you are 6d then you might do something 10d ? What do you think? Agree with your CoD.

You might also find the 16d for 24a in the 2d?

And 14a could well be at the 9a.

Very much on the easy side. My fastest time in quite awhile. My COD is 14. The surface is so smooth - as good as it gets. Well spotted on the landscape features, yevrah.

Good Morning all. Don't know why I am up so early. Yes pretty straightforward enjoyed 1a. Hope we win the cricket and Rugby and Bromley FC get a good draw in the FA Cup!🙂

Enjoyable quick solve. Regarding a possible theme, a few 'cuisine' references, or rather 'cucina', popped up but never enough.

As usual, I have one left. It’s 26a. I need two more letters.

26. First two words are the defn. “Back” refers to everything that follows. Usual two letters for “say”…

My quickest too apart from 19. Have 2nd,4th,6th ok but can’t suss from there i.e. which is clue, which is answer? And going back to 1d isn’t helping either ;-(
