Thanks to everyone for such a good response this week. I noted that the (7) spelling of the word is not in Chambers but is common in the media.
Appreciated the wide range of devices, including anagrams from paul 8&16, Dorrien 17 (in part), chrise 22, Geeker 20&25, hiddens from Darla 19, Baccy 24, Tyke's reversal 7, Jono's upended trats, Geeker's acrostic and emojis!
I was pleased to see some little-used definitions, with Jono's 'rustic boot' & 'old parvenu', and Geeker's 'unicorn'.
Always a sucker for a dog clue, so the runner-up is Jono 29 ... "Old cocker, fit and excited"
