Its been a dickens of a job, but have nearly completed this nightmarish puzzle! I must say that some of the clues are tremendous, but with so many alternative threads to choose from, it's very time-consuming!
Can anyone help with these? :-

34 Across - "Chapter in St. John, maybe, one moving men to great effect" (7) ----H--
31 Down - "Car's exterior showing this off? (6) C---M- (surely CHROME?)
25 Down - "Each to come up" (5) A-E-D (surely AHEAD?)

Jazzgirl, yes, the one and only Bobby Fischer, but it must be "C" only for "chapter" and not "CH" as we would normally expect!
