A puzzler from The Week, all hints or ideas gratefully received-

Thanks.

Scott didn’t use dogs. Amundsen did. So I don’t think “mush” works. “Miss” as a form of address? I confess that I don’t see the wordplay, though.

I’m happy with MUSH because of “forwarding address”, I.E. something you’d say to encourage someone/thing on. Agreed, if I recall the film correctly, Scott didn’t have dogs, but I assume the setter chose Scott because he’s more recognisable than Amundsen.

Fair enough.

My final bit of polar pedantry is that “mush” is an American term. In Scandavia, the common command is “up dogs!” Although you rarely need to use any command; the dogs are dead keen to run - the real problem is getting them to stop!

I love a bit of pedantry, keep it coming! ;) Another example of the rise of Americanisms in crosswords, I suppose…

Sorry, my bolt is shot. But thank you for the chance to revisit memories of some spectacular days on the Finnmark Plateau.
