The first is an anagram of (bars at tate m)

Oh just got the second: A 3-letter word for fruitful, with the land being a country and OU is inside.

17d Bargained for stock (8)

Not many words fit and none seem to match the clue. Any suggestions please?

stock=standard, run of the mill

I've seen this answered as Expected, a sort of double definition thing.
