Thanks to all who entered this week's Clueless. I picked a word I thought had several cluing options, and you've explored them thoroughly. I was interested to see the en/nut connection again, used by Darla 14 and Geeker 15. Jono's Scots 'shore' was new to me, also liked his use of 'lower' and 'menage'.
Other touches I liked were Aristo's chessmen, Paul's cavemen anagram, and his one/ace.
The runner-up is Paulh 5, just edged by Darla 12 with her topical

As an aside, it’s 3 years to the week (give or take) since my very first Clueless entry which was in Clueless 485. I’ve just looked it up and the word then was HYSTERIA, set my Mattrom and the winner was FieryJack. I think Darla and Buddy joined in that same summer of 2020.

Can't take any credit for en/nut...was determined to make a Nutmeg clue and got the usage via Google. Had I seen Darla's 14 (posts crossed in hyperspace), I wouldn't even have entered 15. 😳
