Very gentle indeed but with the niche fact stored in my memory bank. I suspect next week's will present a good challenge if previous ones ending -00 are anything to judge by.

Most definitely! And both this week's Listener and Inquisitor are eminently accessible. Perfect for anybody half decent at standard cryptics.

....and I should have added that The Spectator is almost always an easy way in to barred puzzles.

Thank you Bobby Collins I cannot always get The Spectator as it is a hit-and-miss thing as to whether I can print it or not, and I cannot justify the subscription, but I do have a Link of some sort.
