5 down - To move out after three suits, arguably, nurse or soldier? (6)

I can see that the answer is DECANT, but can’t work out the parsing. I assume ANT is “nurse or soldier”, however I’m at a loss for the first bit.

Can someone educate me please?

I've seen this answered elsewhere. A Deck would be 'suits' (of cards). three, gives Dec. It seems rather clunky to me!

Thanks! It is a bit clunky, isn’t it? I suppose the “arguably” gives a bit of leeway, but even so it’s a bit of a stretch from “three suits” to “three quarters of deck”…

I'm sure you are right, but it is not elegant.

Today’s blog confirms this parsing which is rather disappointing, as most commentators seem to agree…
