Nearly there! Only the end game to complete. I have been playing around with various combinations of the unclued words and have come with something which might have been found at Oil Drum Lane and two alternatives for the other word. Am I on the right lines?

As found by other posters, for once the hint is actually that - if you follow it, things snap into place.

Judging by the paucity of the comments on the thread most of the regulars found this one easy. I managed to complete the grid but cannot make any sense of the phrase derived generated by the third letter of the extra words. Does it refer to something which appears in the grid? Thanks to all

williamseal - I'm not sure from what you say whether you have obtained a coherent phrase from those third letters. If you have, it refers jointly to something which appears in the grid and to what is to be written under the grid. I hope this helps but please say if further clarification is needed.

I've looked again at the phrase and now see the point of the letters from the missing words. I'm just a bit slow (or over-complicating things) it appears!. Please forgive me: I've just come back form a visit to Northern Ireland for the Game of Thrones tour and sitting on the Iron Throne may have affected my thinking.

I'm with you Williamseal. I have the full grid, no parsing loose ends for a change, the sixteen letters, the hidden message and I have not the faintest idea what the 3 word phrase is.
