Looks like Trieste - tries = attempts but how do we get the last 'te'.

Te in Italian is "you", I think.
Could you have put "do" instead of "you".

Agree it was much better this weekend. I have the same answers but didn’t quite get the TE either.

I think you have it, Quisling.
Bradford's has both "te" and "do" under "note".

Sadly I now have an earworm of Julie Andrews “Do, a deer” 🙈

Thanks, I did check do re mi etc and could only find the spelling ti, not te.
