Whenever there is an error in a clue in any of the likes of the Times, Telegraph etc, the top solvers take it in their stride whereas it completely throws me off my stride.

Klazo, although there is the very occasional error in Cyclops' puzzle, the one in the cowboy clue didn't bother me too much. This was because the clue as written/typed.publised read very badly 'Ranch hand who'll give an reliable erection'. An reliable erection... that's definitely not normal English. I think the autocorrect function in my brain changed that to 'give unreliable erection'.
