Thanks to all who took part in this week’s Clueless challenge. Some great entries.

Nice touches included Geeker’s “canned”, Paul’s “topless Navy girl”, Aristo’s ‘n’, and PaulH’s “rock singer”. A long list of likes included Mprs@7, Paul@8, Tyke@17, Tyke@23, Dorrien@24 and Matrom@32.

However, my top three were …

Paul@12 - Warning - about to be consumed by lust (5)

Tyke@29 - Rock chicks sounding horny (6)

Mattrom@21 - Bad girls driving gentleman nuts? (6)

And the winner is…

Matrrom@21, not least because it completely foxed me at first which is probably a sign of a good clue!

Congrats Mattrom, here are your prizes…

Beautifully filmed from Scotland…

…and I know I’ve featured the ‘Unthanks’ before, but continuing the folk music theme from WPR, I hope you like this…

Cheers all! Ttfn

Congrats, mattrom (and tyke and paul). Thanks, Jon. I wonder what being from Greek mythology you will choose next time you host. 😉

Thank you Jono. 🙏🏻 I was hoping an Azed education would come in handy someday. Actually, I hadn't heard of the em/mutton definition.
I liked my prizes. The foghorn mechanism looks like something from Heath Robinson - another wonder of old British engineering. Always enjoy the Unthanks.
Cheers till next week.

My understanding of EN and EM is that in the days of noisy print rooms, because they sound similar, it was better to shout NUT and MUTTON to avoid confusion.

Nice as usual, mattrom! Thanks for the mention, jono.

You folks should try the most recent Wall Street Journal puzzle, a real treat.
