I know the solution is CRIKEY (I'll be). I know that KEY is from the solution to 6 down (Essential), but I can't parse how CRI = "home shortly"

Thanks Jono, I did think of that but it's rather poor, I don't think of a crib (babies bed) as a home!

The BRB gives crib as "a rudimentary home", so the clue cannot be described as poor.
