"Food taken aboard in large quantities." The answer is "stacks," and I get the large quantities bit, but "food taken aboard?" Can anyone help me understand this? Thanks.

TACK is a word for 'food', and SS is an abbreviation for a steamship.
So, it's TACK in (on board) SS

Food = tack and aboard is a common cryptic indicator for within SS as in a ship.
