2D Clue is: Country name in road of European city

From the letters provided by other clues' answers I can only see European city as the answer and only one city seems to fit the letters My problem is reconciling the answer with the clues. I can do this only if the compiler has made a mistake with the spelling of country but it may be I am not seeing what the compiler is telling me in terms of clues

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I have seen thsi answered elsewhere, with an eight-letter answer, a Wuropean city. The country has three letters, name is the usual abbreviation and the road has fouur letters

Thanks I can see how this works now. It seems to me now that the word "of" may be either redundant as in adding nothing to the information that is needed to achieve the answer but may be part of the stock of the cryptic language that compilers legitimately deploy

The road is, as another contributor has said, "quite small" but equally the word has been used to describe halves, quarters or even eighths of roads now I think more about it and has legitimacy in that respect

@mop
"Of" is quite a common connecting word. I agree that it doesn't quite work in the parsing grammar, but it's OK. I was more put out by the superfluous "European" - although it might be supposed to make the clue easier, it really doesn't, all that much.
