I assume the silence here is because regular bloggers found this triflingly easy - or are perhaps on holiday. I need to identify a few more extra words to help identify what to highlight. So prompts on parsing these 3 would be welcome.
38a. Bishop in distress ( with no end of chest pain) wandered no more (5);
40a. Some say native cattle from Texas excellent (4);
3d. Spirit limited by Italian chemist in method of dyeing (4).

Help with 15d would be appreciated. Devout Jamaïcain Christian read out several lines on TV (6)

Unusually, the IQ was the easiest of the weekend trio this time round. The message from the extra words might have been a challenge but turned out to be unnecessary as what was to be highlighted stood out clearly. A brief but nevertheless entertaining solve. Thank you, Kruger.
