Where to start? First, welcome to mystogre and welcome back to granama.

On a first read-through I gave check marks to chris@2, tyke@3, dorrien@12 (still laughing), mprs@11/paul@23 (similar use of Ang Lee), mattrom @10, 13, 14 and 26, jono@7, 8, 18 and 40, and granama@38. Trying to whittle this down to a top 3 is, as usual, impossible and subject to the whims of my personal taste. But, the large cash prize received as Clueless winner made the effort worthwhile.

So after much to-ing and fro-ing my top 3 are:

jono 7, Might this point of view make Anglophiles of the Polish?
dorrien 12, Catch one in the crotch? (In honor of the Stanley Cup playoffs, perhaps? Go Leafs!)
mattrom 13, One broken leg in cast (beautiful surface)

All worthy winners, but in a case of either cleverly knowing his audience or shamelessly pandering to the judge, jono@7 gets the large cash prize for the lovely composite anagram:

Might this point of view make Anglophiles of the Polish?

Congrats to jono and thanks to all for playing.

congrats jono and thanks buddy - also for the mention and the clips. the physics teacher could have used a video of a figure skater spinning!

Well pandered Jono - I thought your excellent clue was a winner! Good word choice Buddy and enjoyed the clips ... but ... us Tykes like to think we are descended from Vikings - we only go pillaging at weekends now and raping is not encouraged.

Tyke
You are probably right - certainly a lot of Yorkshire names are derived from Scandinavian languages. They were a bit later than the Angles and Saxons (and Jutes), though.
I have (rightly or wrongly) always regarded "Viking" as more of a profession than a nationality!

Many thanks Buddy. I admit I did think ‘how might Buddy clue this?’. Enjoyed the clips and I’ll spend the cash prize frivolously! Cheers all, see you next week

Welcome indeed to mystogre and welcome back to grandama.
Congrats Jono - a worthy winner.
Good word choice Buddy and am pleased to have produced the smile. Fun clips.
Stick up there for the Leafs!

PS for Mystogre. I liked your clue idea but it needed a definition. How about

From a teetotaler's point of view there's no good in drink(5)

Keep on trying. This is a friendly thread.
